Fall is in full swing, and for those of us who love a little spine-tingling fun, October brings some great spooky-themed events right in our backyard. Whether you prefer a family-friendly haunt, a ghostly walking tour, or a more adult-oriented party, here’s your guide to Halloween fun in Aurora, Newmarket, and nearby areas this October 2025.

 

🎃 Aurora Highlights

Aurora’s Haunted Forest

Date / Time: Saturday, October 25, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

  • Location: Sheppard’s Bush (access via Mary Street) & Aurora Family Leisure Complex

  • Details: This is a beloved local tradition, celebrating its 20th anniversary. The event features decorated trails, cabins to explore (some scarier than others), crafts, ghost stories, and volunteer-run theatrics. 

  • Tickets: Wristbands (starting October 1) are required for ages 2+. Two levels: a lower tier for family trails, and a full access version including the scarier cabins.

  • Notes: Shuttle service from the Leisure Complex to Sheppard’s Bush is provided (recommended due to limited parking\

 

Thunder Boogie at Wicked Eats (Halloween Night Party)

  • Date / Time: Friday, October 31, 2025, 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

  • Location: Wicked Eats Kitchen + Bar (15570 Yonge St, Aurora) 

  • Details: A Halloween party with live music (Thunder Boogie), dancing, and themed vibes. Dress to impress—or scare!

 

Aurora Seniors Centre — Halloween Bingo Night

  • Date / Time: Friday, October 31, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (game starts at 7:00) 

  • Details: A more relaxed, community-style event for local seniors or anyone wanting Halloween fun in a cozy setting. Admission is $10 for members / $15 non-members.

 

👻 Newmarket Highlights

Newmarket Haunted Halloween Trail

  • Dates / Times: October 23, 24 & 25, 2025; 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

  • Location: Dave Kerwin Trail, entrance via Environmental Park (325 Woodspring Ave) 

  • Details: Walk a 1 km trail transformed with lighting, sound effects, and actors in costume. Intended for ages 10+, and children 12 & under must be with a guardian.

  • Cost: $5 per person. Must purchase tickets in advance (no on-site sales). 

  • Extras: Onsite photo ops, food trucks, and spooky ambiance.

 

Ghost of Old Town Hall Tours

  • Dates: Wednesdays in October (Oct 8, 15, 22, 29) 

  • Times: Two tours per evening: 7:00–8:30 p.m. & 7:30–9:00 p.m.

  • Location: Historic Downtown Newmarket, starting at Old Town Hall (460 Botsford Street) 

  • Details: A guided walking tour of Main Street’s haunted past, followed by a live paranormal investigation inside the Old Town Hall, led by the Georgina Paranormal Society. 

  • Notes: Dress for the weather; tours run rain or shine. Arrive at least 10 minutes early. 

Paranormal Cirque IV

  • Dates: October 3–6, 2025 

  • Location: Near Upper Canada Mall, Newmarket

  • Details: A circus-meets-haunted performance under a big tent. Note: no one under 13 admitted; 13–17 year olds must attend with adult. 

  • Tickets: Range from about $35 to $80 depending on seating. 

Kids’ Halloween Party (Town of Newmarket)

  • Date / Time: (Check schedule) – typically mid-October, multiple sessions

  • Details: A fun, age-appropriate event with crafts, games, and Halloween fun for younger children.

Canada’s Wonderland — Halloween Haunt
Just to the south in Vaughan, this massive haunted theme park event is always a popular draw. Expect mazes, scare zones, live shows, and a full Halloween transformation of the park.
